MAN VS. WILDFeaturing Bear Grylls...
...The Discovery Channel's latest addition to their Survival Zone.
We watch and read all survival-related topics but would probably die anyway in a life/death circumstance, having learned nothing.
Would panic be our most formidable nemesis or just plain dumb, like we didn't pack the RIGHT STUFF? And, if we did, would we know how to glean the max benefit from all that extra pack paraphernalia that only further stressed our knee joints?
Could Bear Grylls be the one to teach us how... or lull us into complacency? Could we survive, toooo? We'll be tuning in. Check your local cable TV schedule and/or Copy/Paste into your browser: http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/survival/

Hi Bill, Our group had the scenario that ‘if the group of 9 were transported 5000 years (give or take a few) years into the past and dumped into Wales (That’s that bit of land joined on to the west of England) Who would be the last one to survive? We got it down to the last two and I was one of them (Thankfully) Try it with a few of your group. Think, 1st can you make fire and shelter? 2nd You can’t speak the language, 3rd you may get killed if you find a village. 4th can you kill to eat? The list goes on. Try it, it’s fun. I know something about survival but I don’t know if I would survive the winter! For all of our ‘knowledge’ we know nothing compared to even Bronze age man
BTW Ray Mears is a far better survival guru than Grylls, look him up
Chris
Good point, old chap. If we were transported back, how much of our "present" knowledge that would be useful could we share with the people we found there. Or would they just kill and eat us before we got the chance?
