THE LOWEST HIGH POINT
Lakewood Park, Florida - Revisited
After an aborted AL/GA/FL corner attempt the day before, we decided to check out the close-by FL highpoint, ranking 50 on the U.S. high point chart at 345ft. elev. While this site wasn't all that shabby the first time we visited, it has nevertheless been upgraded with new signs, fencing, and, we believe, restrooms. Although remotely located in the FL panhandle, roads leading to this point are well-designated and good. It was a rainy day, and mud puddles were the only obstacle. So, waddayawant?! - you can drive right up to this one. Ignore the mud.
